As part of his constituency project, the lawmaker representing Oredo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rasaq Bello-Osagie, on Friday, inaugurated solar-powered street lights across the 10 wards of the constituency.
The lawmaker also inaugurated two blocks of classroom and five toilets in some schools.
Speaking during the opening of the classrooms at Eyaenugie Primary School, Benin, the lawmaker said he added the project to his constituency project in order to contribute to ongoing efforts by Governor Adams Oshiomhole to revamp public education in Edo State.
He said, “When people give you mandate, there are certain responsibilities that are placed on you. It is my desire to respond to the need of Oredo people. I have gone round and I have understood the needs of my people and we can only thank God for what Governor Oshiomhole is doing. What we are doing is to complement his efforts.”
Other completed projects included the provision of transformer to some communities, solar-powered water projects, street lightings and sinking of boreholes.
