Samuel Igbinosa Nomamiukor

I came accross two interesting historical article that cought my attention, quoting an exapt" THE TRUE HISTORY OF IKERE-EKITI AND ITS MONARCHY: As the royal riv...alry between the ogoga and the olukere over the ownership of ikere-ekiti in ekiti state rages, the aladeselu family is claiming that neither of the two owns the community. The community they claimed belong to thier ancestor, prince aladeselu. The family said aladeselu founded ikere-ekiti around 11th century after migrating from benin and settled at ereja in odo oja area of the town. The family said he was the one that admitted the ogoga and the olukere into the community. "according to history several years after prince aladeselu had founded ikere-Ekiti, one prince ogoniga(now called ogoga) arrived in ikere from passing through akure where he stayed briefly with the then Deji of Akure, who happened to be a kinsman and a benin prince. "History had it ogoga left benin together with his immediate family and other retinue of aides and servants in his entourage. It is also in history that ogoga left benin with his crown and other paraphernalia, ogoga later proceeded from akure to place called agamo. "one day while at agamo, ogoga went on hunting experdition when he killed an elephant. While ogoga was tracing the elephant, he noticed a smoke far ahead and decided to trace the smoke which he eventually traced to ikere where he met prince aladeselu fully on ground. "After the duo interacted, they discovered they were kinsmen way back in benin. Aladeselu thereafter assisted ogoga to recover to dead elephant as a mark of appreciation gave aladeselu, the ivory and other vital parts of the elephant's meat and bones, some of which are preserved till date. "Ogoga subsequently settled down in ikere with the permission of aladeselu who ordered that ogoha should stay with Arasegun at erepupu, while aladeselu remained at ereja.

I thank God for the binis and the Benin kingdom and the inherent greatness God put in her. With the research I have done so far about the Benin kingdom, one thing is prominent about us; that is RULERSHIP/LEADERSHIP/GOVERNMENT. There is this leadership/ organisational gifts in us which must be maintained.
The Bini Princes who migrated from Benin to different parts of Africa established the government in those places.
I celebrate the Edo's across the globe!
Long live the Benin kingdom!!
Oba khator kpe re. Use!!!

Medicinal and Penicillin......

Before the European invasion of Africa, African people had developed a medical system based on plants and herbs to cure illnesses. Egypt, Southern Africa, West Africa and parts of East Africa had the most advanced medicine. They used plants with salicylic acid for pain, kaolin for diarrhea, and other extracts to kill bacteria.

KEMET physicians made use of a wide variety of medicinal plants, but the most numerous remedies were purgatives and emetics. The cathartic oil of the castor plant was used both as an internal drug and as a medication for wounds and irritated areas.

Edos have been giving away Ewohimi where I hails, the Onogie secede our land to one Deltan billionaire called UKUOMA for monopoly...I had long traveled home...I know by now they would have taken my dad's land...since no one is there to query or stop them. If amas was here, he would understand where and what I am talking about...I don't know whether u are familiar with Onicha ugbo. We shares common boundary with them toward the eastern axis. The Onogie of ewohimi loves money than justice, don't know whether he has changed

I love the benin's systematically, but they have lost their glory to the Yoruba, which they see today as gods. before it was only the bini kings bear the title of oba, the king in ife is call the ooni of ife , the one in oyo is call the alaafin of oyo the one in Lagos is call the aleko of eko and so many in every part of Yoruba land, it was only in Benin that we have the OBA of Benin, but after 1954 traditional council conference host in Benin that others started adopting the name oba to there kings cause the attendance list of that meeting is still kept till date.

this Yoruba people being the most educated and expose people wrote the culture and tradition of most ethnic groups and stole the cultural inheritage through that means. ask a Yoruba man the meaning or while lagos is call eko, he doesnt know but eko is indigenous to the bini eko means a battle field. that land is use by the bini to invite enimies for war rather than invading their town killing women and children. you can see that even before the advent of colonialism no one thought Africans for the protection of human right. but todays the yoruba has claimed the land eko known as Lagos today, if the Benin says they own some part of igbo land let them collect back Lagos before IMO, anambra or abia can be giving to them. watch my post am not siding any but I blame the bini's of those days.

Great Benin Bronze

These anti-Edo political organizations you folks went to join are the most anti-African - and Africans - in the world.

They're worse than anything; we obviously can't stop you though, even Ewuare II's manifest destiny lies in our own regional party.

We have egba Omo Oduduwa and so on, NPC, AG, the forerunner of them all NCNC and then now these cancers of today.

Stay "with them", but register for your most important election first: your local election, register Edo Political Front, and if you don't, vote the front.

No self respecting Edo will - in the future - find themselves the flag bearers and cheerleaders of foreign parties with indirect rule political and economic mandates, it just doesn't work.

No sane Edo person lives to "have the ear" of someone who doesn't have Edo at their heart.

The Supreme Court is the place to remove the frustration of these lethargic and "periodic" additions to the voting rolls; here - where I live - you can fill in the forms regarding changing your voter registration at the post office and other easy access places.

At the rate things are going we're going to find ourselves truly in decline as our populations suffer from simple things like protein deficiencies in children
