The Geo-Political Setting of Edo State in Nigeria

Nigeria and WAZOBIA: The Economic Value of Truth

While looking at the projector on the wall, Nigeria, along with many other African countries, was considered a state. The Benin Empire was considered a nation. Nigeria has neither dream nor future. The poor masses are suffering. Millions of unemployed youths are roaming the streets, a country where deceit and corruption are being preached in the church. Today, Nigeria is embedded in a civil war as in the days of Biafra and Niger Delta militancy. Since I was born, Nigeria has never known a minuit of peace. A kingdom divided against itself shall not stand. Today, the south is happy and the north is crying; what happens tomorrow? A country full of discrimination, tribalism. Nigeria will collapse within 24 hours should the oil in Niger Delta dry up today. Criminal, corrupt leaders are the only reason why Nigeria is still one. Let's double up effort to bring down the ZOO as soon as possible

Ogidigan Efe

This man is saying the truth and nothing but the truth. If you look at Benin today almost every market are dominated by igbos, evbarekè spare part market, cook road tiles market, igun automobile repair, chemist or pharmacy shops all over Benin city, forestry boutique shops, cement shops, steel and iron bar shops, teaching jobs, upholstery works. Almost every jobs have been taken over by alien from other states and Edos are left with nothing. Annual state budget and money sent by Edos in diaspora mainly ends up in the hands of these foreign invaders and that's why Edo State is getting poorer because these money are taken out from the state why Edos are denied same in the south east due to tribalism there. There should be a limit to what we allow non indigenes do in Edo state or else we will wake up one day and they will own everything.

The question Edo people should be asking is are igbos fair to Edos on employment in their land the same Way we are fair to them on employment in our land?

‪#‎2015NigeriaDecide‬: STATE OF THE NATION AFTER 21 YEARS.

...Contiuned from last post.

In country so richly blessed, why is the condition of the majority so bad that quite numberless Nigerians go to bed almost every night with empty stomach?

Violent crime rate is steeply rising; the nation is enveloped in perpetual fear owning to insecurity North and South of the country; high profile corruption pervades the land; food is been taken away from the table of many while many cannot afford to put their children in school.

Some sponsored foreign econmics analysts can sit down in their comfort zone and contiune to roll out fallacious statistics about the state of Nigerian economy, but Nigerians who are the owners of the econmy know where the shoes pinches.

Just like the great Zik of Africa had predicted, Nigeria has ever since remained a flock in search of the right shepherd.

The country has continued to be handed over (like baton in relay race) from one "accidental public servant" to another; and so the ship of the nation is on a directionless journey, heading to nowhere.
The spirts of june 12 appear to be very adamant, calling for the atonement of the blood of the innocent ones which was unjustly shed.

As the nation warms up for another destiny-changing exercise, it is hoped all stakeholders will hold the interest of the country higher in their mind than their own selfish interest.

Those who have either annulled or rigged elections in the past are all alive today to witness the devastating effect of their destructive actions; and the sprits of the victims of their acts of injustice will never allow them to be at peace.

... to be continue.

Ken Agala wrote:

In a recent interview in London,General Obasanjo referred to President Jonathan as a mediocre. Just as a reminder, this is a post I wrote in 2013. Facts don't lie. Read and share.

"In 2006, President Obasanjo met with the CEO of the New York Stock Exchange in Davo, Switzerland and requested to ring the closing bell at the NYSE. He cited instances with the economic reforms being pushed by Dr. Iweala( whom 'our' governors wants sacked) and finally got a subtle and tentative invite by the new CEO.

The NYSE uses its selection of bell ringers to make strategic statements about the direction of the exchange and its seen as a strong endorsement to potential investors all over the world .
On arrival for the ceremony , the NYSE told President Obasanjo that the request was not approved and that the President can come for a 'lunch', which is a lesser endorsement at the Stock Exchange. Characteristic of OBJ, he got infuriated and shunned the Lunch.

A few months earlier, three African Presidents have been lumped together to ring the closing bell at the exchange. They were the President of Liberia, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf, the President of Mozambique, Armando Guebuza and the President of Tanzania, Jakaya M. Kikwete.

Many African analysts saw this as a let down on Africa as many smaller European country's presidents like Belgium had rung the closing bell alone.

The only African presidents that have ever rung the bell alone are Presidents of Botswana,Festus Mogae in 2005. (Botswana was the only African country them with an A+ credit rating from both Standards&Poors and Moody's ratings)

President Thabo Mbeki of South Africa which was an expression of confidence in the South African economy and President Chiluba of Zambia as an endorsement of the massive economic reforms on the Zambian economy.

Not too long, we have heard various testimonies from global players on the success of the Jonathan run economy. From CNN Money listing of the Nigerian stock amongst the five strongest in the world, to the testimony of the British Prime minister in his address to his party faithful .

From the Clinton Foundation's statement , to US President Obama's endorsement. From international rating agencies like Standard&Poors, Fitch etc, to global institutions like IMF and World bank with a recent upgrading of Nigeria from a low income economy to a middle income economy .

The 23rd September 2013, honoring of President Jonathan at the prestigious Bell ringing ceremony of the NYSE is the greatest global endorsement for the transformation agenda of President Jonathan and the robustness of the Nigerian economy.

It is a testimony to the world that despite the bitter bad press by disenchanted politicians at home, Nigeria is the next destination for global investors.

It is also important to note that in this same year, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) listed Nigeria as the number Foreign Direct Investment destination in Africa.

On its website, the World Economic Forum explained why it chose Nigeria as the host of the 2014 African edition

"...More importantly, it is a reflection of the growing attraction of Nigeria to international capital as one of the world’s most rewarding new markets, following recent painful but highly rewarding set of economic reforms"

For those who make it an obsession to paint President Jonathan like a failure, by calling him names, no matter what name you give to a spoon of honey, the name will never change it's taste.

To achieve a legacy of sustainable development across the constituency. Under this vision, I will advocate and promote:
1. The use of participatory approach to ensure that the constituents are carried along in the prioritization, design, implementation, and evaluation of project activities.
2. The integration of gender participation and awareness of gender issues into project design and implementation to foster equitable participation and benefits for both men and women.
3. The inclusion of mandatory environmental and social impact assessment into project development and execution.
4. The harnessing of opportunities to complement projects with additional socio-economic benefits.
5. A regime of value proposition to open up the development space for corporate organizations operating in the constituency to partner in the socio-economic development of the constituency.
6. Genuine relationship-building and development of partnership with foreign development organizations in addressing the socio-economic needs of the constituency.
7. Development projects based on social research and peace building.

"Hahahahaha Okporru Edo I will advise you get to know me. I am telling you from the grapevine and you should quote me anywhere that the Association of Enigie in Benin Kingdom approved by the Benin Traditional Council have endorsed General Muhammad Buhari for 2015.
Whether it is for personal interest or not is secondary and that is not the issue here.
And for your issue of pan edos not chiefs that may know more of the palace than me the Obadolagbonyi of Benin Kingdom is an exaggerated lie. Please try to know who you are talking to.
Now you are advising against playing politics with the palace but when you were posting old pictures of your president's visit to the palace, you didn't see it as playing politics with the oba. Bullshit.
I tell you again QUOTE ME.GEJ will be in the palace on Wednesday and I will personally make sure that it will be APC apologists chiefs that will receive him. His Majesty will not receive him personally so the APC apologists chiefs will drill him. He should give answers to the rubbish his ijaw brothers are doing in Benin villages because those ijaw vagrants keep saying they have the backing of the Ozuonumakon president.GMB is it.
GMB i have faith in.
GMB is the face of change Nigeria desires
GMB is not perfect like every other human being but he has capacity to remove Nigeria from the abyss of poverty and squalor that Jonathan has dug Nigeria into in the last six years." - Utetenegiabi Omo-Osagie

Abel Udi Insurmountable economic problems plagued the Buhari regime as petroleum prices collapsed in the face of expanding foreign debt. Buhari instituted austerity measures that caused severe hardship to the average Nigerian. In addition, political corruption
continued unabated, with politicians escaping to Western countries with millions of dollars in government money. In an effort to
stop dissension, Buhari instituted restrictions on the press, political freedoms, and trade unionists. By August 1985 even the
military had had enough, and Ibrahim Babangida took control of the government. Buhari was detained in Benin City but was
released at the end of 1988. Encyclopedia Britanica

These anti-Edo political organizations you folks went to join are the most anti-African - and Africans - in the world.

They're worse than anything; we obviously can't stop you though, even Ewuare II's manifest destiny lies in our own regional party.

We have egba Omo Oduduwa and so on, NPC, AG, the forerunner of them all NCNC and then now these cancers of today.

Stay "with them", but register for your most important election first: your local election, register Edo Political Front, and if you don't, vote the front.

No self respecting Edo will - in the future - find themselves the flag bearers and cheerleaders of foreign parties with indirect rule political and economic mandates, it just doesn't work.

No sane Edo person lives to "have the ear" of someone who doesn't have Edo at their heart.

The Supreme Court is the place to remove the frustration of these lethargic and "periodic" additions to the voting rolls; here - where I live - you can fill in the forms regarding changing your voter registration at the post office and other easy access places.

At the rate things are going we're going to find ourselves truly in decline as our populations suffer from simple things like protein deficiencies in children
