BENIN CITY- A congregation of traditional worshippers, Enigie, Igie-Ohen, Edionwere and others are to gather on Thursday and Saturday next week to place curses and spell on men of the underworld and kidnappers who have made the state uncomfortable.


A statement by the information officer, Benin Traditional Council (BTC), Robinson Osayamwen said that the Oba of Benin, Omo N’ Oba Uku Akpolokpolo has been worried by the general security in Benin City and other parts of Edo State.


According to him, following the development, the Oba has directed the Enigie, Igie-Ohen, Edionwere and other traditional worshippers to assemble at Urokpota ground, king’s square, next week Thursday June 10 and Saturday, June 12, 2010 at 10.00 am to place curse on those responsible in one way or the other for kidnappings, assassinations, robberies and other vices in Benin City and other parts of the state.
