The only courageous female aspirant under the canopy of Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), Prof.Mercy Obamogie says when elected to represent Edo South senatorial district in the Senate,  she will make sure she lobbies and drafts bills that will be enacted into laws for the benefit of Edo South Senatorial District.
Prof. Obamogie disclosed that her major intention in vying for the senatorial seat is to improve the lives of the people of her constituency.  “lf given the mandate as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, from Edo South Senatorial District, I will not disappoint them. I will make them very, very delighted because I am going to the Senate to work. I believe so much in hard work. As you  are probably aware, my motto is  “Good Leadership, Integrity and Hard work; so I will work very well in the Senate if I am elected.
“This is a very fulfilling day before me, and I thank our ACN leaders for having me here,” she said.
Princess  Obamogie, revealed that over the years, she had watched the Nigerian political terrain and she has not been impressed with what she has seen so far. She said that people from Edo South Senatorial District have not reaped from the dividends of democracy, a fact that motivated her to offer herself for the position.
She  made the assertion at the ACN secretariat at Airport Road, Benin City.
Describing the aspirant as somebody with a courageous attitude, the state chairman of ACN in Edo State, Prince Tony Omohaige, said Prof. Mercy is a credible material capable of projecting the zeal and interest of Edo South Senatorial indigenes.
He  assured her of the party's support whenever she needs party help.
Advising her to find  the right path in life, the chairman critically urged Professor Mercy Obamogie to make sure she mobilizes vibrant and  organized women with creative talent and vision to sustain her political ambition.
Also commenting, the state women leader of ACN, Mrs. Mordino Emonvon, said this is the opportunity women having been praying for and called on  ACN women to come out in large numbers to campaign for Obamogie Mercy.
She also appealed that the party and Governor Adams  Oshiomhole  to allow and create a level playing ground to select the best and credible candidates that will represent and protect the interest of the people.
In another development, former commissioner for Agricultural and Natural Resources in the state, Mr Chris Agbonwangbe, has blamed the youths for the existing poor reading culture.
Agbonwangbe said when youth in tertiary institutions lack adequate reading culture, it would be very complicated for them to develop high thinking technique.
He also told them not to commit any atrocity in pursuit  of  quick money, stressing that they should wait for God's appropriate time.
The lawyer also used the  forum to lampoon the federal lawmaker who defected to ACN, Hon. Samson Osagie for insufficient utilization of constituency funds, while also accusing the lawmaker for refusing to disburse the huge amount of money paid  as compensation on the death of Late Osamuyi Akpitany, killed illegally in Spain, Europe.
The former commissioner made the observations in his domain when the Students Union Association of Uhunmwonde Indigene, AAU branch paid him a familiarization visit.
Explaining what inspired them to  embark on the visit, the president of the association, Comrade Confidence Imafidon  said the lawyer's  past antecedents as head of Agriculture under the Igbinedion administration was noteworthy.
